Do you know who you really are?
Do you know what you're made of?
Do you know what you're capable of?
Most people don’t seem to know who they really are. I've discovered that most people think they are the stories they create about themselves: I am shy. I am anal. I am ugly. I am a workaholic. I am obsessed with working out. I am disciplined. I am a procrastinator.
Or they think they are the roles they play: CEO, wife, husband, mother, doctor, lawyer, truck driver...
But what if we are not our stories or our roles? What if there is something before our stories and roles? Something that is us, that is far greater than we can imagine?
What if this thing that exists in you, that is you, that comes before your stories and roles, is so beautiful, powerful, special — and so ordinary! — that if you really saw it or experienced it, you would fall to your knees and weep at the beauty?
What if you saw that whatever this thing is before our stories allows you to create whatever identity you want? What if you could see that you could create and live out any persona you wanted? And no matter what persona you created, it would still not be who you really are?
Once we truly understand who we are, it's like being handed the keys to the kingdom. We can choose who we want to be, what roles we want to play, and we can have fun with them — because we are secure in the knowledge that the roles are not who we really are.
Who we really are is Life Force Energy – the creative intelligence that is in all of life.
The great thing about this Intelligence is that it contains everything we need in it. It will give us the guidance we so desire – what to do and how – in the moment when we need it. It always gives us the next step, the person to call, the place to go. All we have to do is listen. It is available to us 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
This intelligence has also given each of us unique gifts to share; unique gifts that come together to contribute to all of life. What is so cool is to discover our gifts and see how they fit. Sometimes we can feel challenged because, once we discover our gifts, the gifts can seem like nothing; sometimes, they don’t seem special.
But what you have to remember is that you are Life Force Energy. Aliveness.
So, no matter what your judging mind may do with the information you receive, your gifts, the direction you are being offered, are the thing. This is it. And “it” is often very simple. What might help is to remember that you exist within a larger matrix, and every little thing is a contribution. Your gifts, and the wisdom you receive and follow, are significant to the intelligence that holds us all.
