“Should’ve Gotten Gas”

Listening to the Quiet Voice That Knows

“Intuition does not come from logic. It comes from silence.”

✧ Trusting Our Self

This past Monday, I took a half-day off to go to Stinson Beach with my husband.

Driving up to Montclair to do one last errand, I looked down and saw I had a quarter tank of gas.
A quiet voice inside whispered:

“Get more gas.”

Did I listen?
Nope.

I forgot—until I was deep on Highway 1, winding toward Stinson Beach with no gas station in sight and an orange warning light glowing on the dash.

It wasn’t just about the gas.
It was about that inner voice—the one I’ve ignored many times before.

Like when I was about to marry my first husband.
That voice said:

“Don’t marry him.”
And I didn’t listen.

Or when I knew we should take the Bay Bridge, not the San Mateo.
But I listened to someone else, and we sat in traffic for four hours.

And then there was the 1989 San Francisco earthquake.
I was about to drive home to Danville when the voice came again:

“Go for a run.”

I was tired. But I listened.

As I jogged through Golden Gate Park, the earthquake struck.
Had I not listened, I might have been on the Bay Bridge when it collapsed.

✧ The Voice Behind Career Decisions

That same voice shows up in our careers
When something feels off at work, when we sense a change coming,
or when we’re quietly dreaming of something more aligned.

But imposter syndrome can drown that voice out.

It floods our minds with doubt—
“You’re not ready.”
“You’ll fail.”
“Who do you think you are?”

We ignore our intuition because it’s not loud or logical.

The voice I used to believe was the anxious one in my head.
The one who planned, performed, and overthought everything.

But the authentic voice?
It’s soft.
Grounded.
True.
It lives in the space between thoughts.
When I listen, I feel a deep exhale inside. A knowing.

✧ Gene Key 57: Inner Knowing

This blog lives inside the energy of Gene Key 57:
Unease → Clarity → Transparency

It’s the Gene Key of intuition, not fear-based reaction, but clarity born from silence.

Gene Key 57 reminds us:

“Clarity is not in the mind. It is in the whole being.”
The Gene Keys, Richard Rudd

You already know.

Whether it’s what job to leave, what truth to speak, or what direction to follow—
The whisper is always there.

The question is: Will you listen, especially when self-doubt is loudest?

✧ Ready to Trust Your Knowing Again?

If impostor syndrome has you second-guessing everything…
If the voice inside you is quiet, but won’t go away…

Let’s listen together.
