What if it could be easy?

Since the dawn of time there has been a natural way in which the living things on this planet not only thrive, but also glow. Flower grows strong rooted by the Earth, crystal cave glows by aid of the sun, waterfall flows with the pumping of the river and cub becomes mighty bear with the fruits of the forest. The former statements, all seemingly unrelated actually have a fundamental thing in common; they are only vitalized by the aid of something other than itself.

We humans although, more complex than the flower, cave, and so on, are not exempt from the world of nourishment. This knowledge is not a nuance, but of late it seems our race has somehow strayed away from it. And in turn, we have lost the one shining beacon that was bestowed upon since inception; innate well-being.  This post is about accessing that well being through the aid of nourishment. As well as a gentle reminder of the wholeness we all come into this world with.

All humans are fundamentally born with the sense of what is right for us and what does not serve us. Consider the infant, they know what they want; if they are tired they sleep, if they are hungry they cry till being fed. They outstretch their arms when wanting to be held. You get the idea.

As adults, we recognize the infants’ ability to authentically express that which they need. So what has happened to ours? It is our thinking; self-analysis, self-loathing and critical self-evaluation that has removed us from expressing ourselves and consequently we have merged further and further away from our highest selves.

But what if life and the way we go about it was much easier than we think? I am here to boldly say that, it is. We have the power to bring ourselves up, but only when we are our highest most vitalized selves, when we have been cared for as the complex and vibrant beings we are. Consider this thought; “The amount of energy I have in my body gives me the type of thinking I have access too. I am always experiencing my thinking, not the event.”

Events happen, and you constantly have a choice in regards to your reaction. Our thinking is insidious and if gone unchecked can seriously alter our mood. That’s why the words, cranky, annoyed, irritable all exist; our bodies cannot generate the higher innate well-being thoughts because it is running on empty. It’s truly never the circumstances; it’s our thoughts around us. Thought creates our reality; it is always our perspectives in which we are experiencing the world.

I have learned that when life happens and I am unfortunately exhausted and malnourished, to not take my thoughts too seriously, only notice them.  Like a spectator, I take a step back and simply watch and notice but don’t quite believe them. This trick has helped me immensely in staying above ground, if you will, not sinking into self-disparaging thoughts.  Once again, thoughts create our reality—doesn’t that feel freeing, to realize your thoughts have so much power? I invite you to sit with that thought and let yourself slowly be enveloped by it. Allow the understanding wash over you until you come to the realization that life can be so fun, if we began to see that, we wouldn’t take each other so seriously, we would discover a deep sense of well-being.

When you feel your mood is low—you simply take a breath, notice that you are in a low mood with unhelpful thinking. Like clouds in the sky, this will pass. Don’t make any big decisions, don’t have any important conversations. You’ll save those for when you are at your highest most resilient self, after nourishing.

I hope this post has shined a light on the voice in your head and left you feeling a bit brighter with the possibility of accessing your best self through nourishment and in turn revealing your best thoughts.
